Project Overview :

Cowshed worked directly with the BBC to do exactly what it says on the tin – Make Wales Happy. As part of the BBC’s efforts to get the nation happy at the gloomiest time of the year, we delivered a social media campaign called #WelshHappinessDay.

The campaign happened on the same day that BBC Wales hosted the Make Wales Happy show with Jason Mohammed and Alex Jones.

One thing led to another and before we knew it, the whole campaign blew up. Luke Evans, Iceland, The X Factor and Michael Sheen were just some of the many that joined in to support the campaign.

We also worked with local business to host happiness activities – such as a partnership we ran with the Dogs Trust who took in rescue dogs to offices, and with the University of South Wales who gave out free hugs on campus.

We secured participation from 40 organisations and helped generate a total reach of 451.3m.
