Project Overview :

Amidst the global pandemic, March 2020 brought with it closures of hospitality outlets across the UK. This meant frontline NHS workers were unable to access on-site cafés.

Spotting a need to support key workers, Kasim Ali from Waterloo Tea cafe founded Feed the Heath as a volunteer-led initiative to supply healthy meals to NHS staff. On Saturday 28th March, Feed the Heath was set up on Go Fund Me with the aim of offering 100 meals a day for 12 weeks to NHS workers at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW).

Cowshed offered support on the campaign and led on social media and media relations, starting with a pitch to media on the Saturday night and a tweet tagging relevant Cardiff people on the Sunday.

We wanted to raise the profile of the Feed the Heath campaign through media relations and online activity, raise £25,000 donations to serve 100 meals a day over 12 weeks and recruit additional businesses in Cardiff to volunteer for the campaign.
